Dvait

“Dvait”, an Art Show by 5 Couple-Artists was held in Ahmedabad from December 15 to 25, 2017. Participating artists were- Anju & Atul Dodiya, Madhavi & Manu Parekh, Vasundhara & Rameshwar Broota, Sharmila Samant & Tushar Joag, N. Ramachandran & V. Anamika

There were other workshops, film screening and slide shows, which were attended by fine arts students and people of Ahmedabad.

Through time immemorial we have lived and experienced the ethos of द्वैत– अद्वैत.Great philosophers have debated from time-to-time and have had various theories on it. This concept is exemplified in the sculpture of Ardhnarishvara at Kailash Temple- शिव – शक्ति, which in true sense represents masculinity and femininity. Each distinct, yet inseparable from the other, this represents the same truth.
This unity in diversity has been profoundly lived and experienced by you as a couple. The diversity that each of you has in style, approach, thoughts, ideas and philosophies have been nurtured independently and beautifully as your unique expression. You have retained your identities, mingled your differences, carved your own niche and at the same time stood as one. You have cultivated these differences with love and care,   as variety and not conflicts, thus bringing out the best in you – enriching the society and the world that we live in. Knowing each other’s strength and limitations, you have been a pillar of support. Lending zest and confidence to the work that each pursue, you have created a perfect homogeneity as a couple, bringing out the best in this creative world!

As Kalidasa says in रघुवंश– “वागर्थाविव संपृक्तौ वागर्थप्रतिपत्तये।
जगतः पितरौ वन्दे पार्वतीपरमेश्वरौ”II

(Shiva and Parvati are separate and fused together like speech – वाणी and its meaning –अर्थ .)  We celebrate this duality in the upcoming show in Ahmedabad – ‘द्वैत’.This show was held in Ahmedabad from December 15 to 25, 2017.
